Review summary

This all adult cruise is perfect for the young and young at heart. If you’re looking for a non-traditional cruise line and want to let you hair down, tap into your “inner” child, then you should consider Virgin Voyages. Wife and I have sailed traditional premium cruise lines in the past, and found Virgin a better value for your money, not to mention more fun and enjoyable. This was a no judgement experience where everyone was just free to be themselves and have fun.

Embarkation was easy and straightforward, as it took < 20 minutes once our boarding time to arrive to get processed and get onboard the ship

Really liked the healthier food options along with meal service even in the Galley (buffet area). This kept food waste to a minimum along with helping in portion control for those not wanting to leave gaining weight. More importantly, the quality of the specialty dining was comparable to premium cruise lines without the price gouge.

There is something for all tastes and desires. Go onto this ship with an open mind, as it is very progressive in attitude and show subjects.

Staff were very friendly and seemed genuinely more happy and were always ready to answer questions or help you in any way.

Ship was easy to navigate as most activities were located on decks 5, 6, or 7 mid-ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very modern design and XL Terrace was perfect for two cruisers. Hammock on the balcony was a nice twist.

Ship tip

Be comfortable using technology when you cruise as there won’t be a traditional cruise director or many over-head announcements. You will be using the app to get updates or notifications. If you require a paper itinerary they do provide this, but around the ship in certain locations, but not daily in your cabin like other cruise lines.

Once you booked your disembarkation time (via the app) getting off the ship is simple. You leave at your scheduled time with your luggage and go straight to customs. You can have Virgin take your luggage off for you the night before, but must have luggage outside cabin by 10 PM the night before.
