The Pearl Inside Passage Alaska

Ship: Norwegian Pearl
Sail Date: Jun 02, 2013

This was our third Alaska cruise and first time with NCL. Nice surprises: 1. Entertainment. We greatly enjoyed the "Oh What a Night to Remember Tribute" (4 Seasons Tribute band). Professional and worth seeing. Jana Seale was a "not to miss" performer...if you love Folk/Pop music by a great voice and a great picker (guitar music accompaniment)...Jana is your girl! Also worthy of mention is Arvin and Emily...a fantastic duo with a great blend (Their rendition of "A Prayer", rocked the boat!). 2. Debarkation in Seattle...about as quick and smooth as we've experienced. 3. Itinerary: The "must sees" on any Alaskan cruise must include Glacier Bay and Skagway (for the rail trip). This itinerary included both! 4. Dress code. Loved the option to stay in jeans the whole trip...not for everyone, I know, but I loved the simplicity and ability to travel light! As expected: 1. Tiny, tiny cabins (141 sq ft inside). Only way to get on/off bed was over the end (side space further reduced ...

7 Day Glacier Bay, Alaska

Ship: Norwegian Pearl
Sail Date: May 26, 2013

Going to Alaska should be in everyone's bucket list. It is the most wonderful place on earth. So much different from our regular way of life. You would see places where human beings never set foot on. Pristine places, ice age glaciers, amazing sea creatures. Awe inspiring indeed. You see God's creation in all its amazing places. And the people are very nice. Support Alaska. It is truly our very own.

Alaksa was awesome. Norwegian could have done better... (2.5 stars really)

Ship: Norwegian Pearl
Sail Date: May 26, 2013

I had always read that Carnival was not the best cruise line (I've taken several) so we decided on Norwegian. When I stepped on the Norwegian ship, I was expecting it to be better than Carnival. I was disappointed. Alaska, of course, is an excellent destination. But the Norwegian Pearl was not great. The food was ok - definitely not great. The service was fine - definitely not great. The freestyle dining means that you don't make any personal relationships with the wait staff - which is a shame! Plus, the food is just like you would get at a Denny's. Now, before you say anything - I love Denny's. So, I'm not saying the food was BAD, it was just not great. The ships activities were fun - very good entertainment. And the trip itinerary was wonderful and the shore excursions were great. So mainly, the food and service were not up to Carnival standards.

Ship: Norwegian Pearl

excellent...Very carefree and clean rooms.. The crew was excellent with service. But there is just one thing.. When you depart from the ship with your luggage, tell people that you do not have to get in line early, or be the first in line because it does not matter.. The line moves real fast so do not worry about being the last one in line.. You can wait until 30 minutes before.. It's OK

excellent

Ship: Norwegian Pearl
Sail Date: May 05, 2013

The cruise was excellent and I had a great time on the cruise. But I wasn't happy with my booking of the cruise. When I was checking out the cruise I called NCL to get details of the cruise and the NCL person told me that if I booked the cruise I would get $100.00 on board credit . I mentioned this to my travel agent and she assured me I would get it if I booked it with her. She also told me I would get an additional $ 75.00 if I used a Mastercard which I did. I got the $ 75.00 from MC but I didn't get anything from NCL and I am very disappointed in NCL. I took you at your word and when the time came I was told there was no on board credit from NCL. I am a platinum latitude member and I have never complained about this before so now you can see why I am very disappointed in NCL

had a great time

Ship: Norwegian Pearl

Good times on and off the ship. Loved the variety of Ports of call. Not long enough, of a vacation. Only complaint is long lines getting on and off of cruise and limited access to spa.

Deck Plans for Norwegian Pearl

Tips for Norwegian Pearl

Check out the updated area of the Blue Lagoon. it is open 24hrs with great food and snacks.

Deck 7 - great for walking a mile in the morning as you circumvent the whole ship with no interruption without dealing with too much wind resistence. Indigo restaurant, as they all are, is superb.

All the 2 bedroom suites are under the gym...Never, never stay in the 2 bedroom suits on the Norwegian Pearl !!!!

From MeetOnCruise iPhone App: Andy, cruise director was fantastic!! I believe he is now on Epic

It is a beautiful ship...entertainment is so wonderful. Room is cleaned twice a day. We have not experienced a waiting line for meals. Best for all, the crew is very friendly including the Captain of the ship. The only thing, that I was not happy was the Casino whose crew were not that very accomodating.

Best coffee (fresh ground and brewed) at AFT/Starboard in Summer Cafe

Make it a point to go watch their entertainment every night. Simply superb. And the singers, specially Arvin and Emily, wonderful lounge singers.

great

lido deck for breakfast and lunch ,plenty of seating,,,no crowds

Both main dining rooms offered excellent value.

Did not find the optional restaurants worth the time or money.

Go early to breakfast, avoid the crowds!

Any place you eat is fantastic....No bad food.

go to the spa very relaxing

We thought the Frankie Valli show was excellent. The food on the entire ship was very good.

Breakfast outside is nice.
