Disappointed

Ship: Carnival Sensation
Sail Date: Jun 06, 2013

This was my second cruise on the Sensation. The first one was 9/2012, I had a great time, good food, and great service. The crew was happy and went out of their way to speak to you. So to my surprise this cruise disappointed me. Cabin: The cabin was clean however the bathroom had issues... we had no cold water running out of the sink - the excuse was that to many people were using the cold water at once.... Really, then why does the shower have cold water and not the sink... go figure. The bathroom smelled like a sewer so daily we had to request air freshener to be sprayed. Cabin Stewards: Not very friendly and barely said hello to us each day. Food: Overall the food was just ok. The wait staff in the dining room were impatient and always seemed to busy to remember simple requests like a glass of water. Boat Activities: Enjoyable-something for everyone Nassau: We taxied over to Paradise Island and had a great time Overall due to the bad customer service an...

Our impression of Carnival Sensation Ship

Ship: Carnival Sensation
Sail Date: Jun 02, 2013

1. When we booked, we were told that "non-alcoholic" beverages were FREE... NOT SO! Soft carbonated drinks were $2.00. Only "free" drinks were ice tea and lemonade which tasted AWFUL! 2. We were told that ALL staterooms were NON-SMOKING.... We had cigarette smoke coming into our stateroom all night, EVERY night! So bad that we had to place a damp towel in front of the door (which helped only slightly). We woke up numerous times with headaches and stopped up noses from the awful smoke! We complained to our stuwart but he only said he'd "look into it". Later we were told that no one appeared to be smoking anywhere and that was all. The smoke smell continued. 3. The breakfast and lunch food in the Lido was very bad. Food was extremely greasy, tasteless and breads were stale. 4. Because we DID NOT purchase any shore excursions, we were told we HAD to pick up our 7 year old grandson from the Carnival Club for lunch between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. therefore, cutting sh...

A Breach in your security

Ship: Carnival Sensation
Sail Date: Jun 02, 2013

I would have given this cruise a 5-star rating until we docked at Nassau and had an unpleasant experience with guest services. My daughter put a fifty dollar bill into your change machine across from the guest services desk and only received thirty dollars back. When my daughter went to the guest services desk to inform Olga (from the Ukraine at ~3pm) of the matter, she nonchalantly asked her if she had a receipt stating she was shorted by the machine. My daughter stated she did not receive a receipt. Olga told her with a firm, yet I don't believe you tone, that if the machine shorted you you would have receipt stating this. She also stated she could not do anything about this for 24hrs. I walked over after about 15 minutes to find out what was going on. She told me the same thing in a condescending tone as well. I informed her that there were six of us in our party using that machine and not one of us received a receipt documenting our transactions. It is then she scribbled ...

Get a break

Ship: Carnival Sensation
Sail Date: May 26, 2013

We really loved the cruise, the crew as great and plesent, polite and shows attraction was great as well along with great food options/selection. The ship was very clean, Didn't enjoy much allowance of smoke inside of the clubs or karaoke, terrible irritated me and my wife forcing us to spend less time on those places no even dreaming on spend time on the cassino because cigarettes and smoke, honestly didn't enjoy too much teens and behavior on the 1only night club sharing space with a group of my age 40's. I sailed at Royal Caribbean last November 2012 along with wife and another 43 friends and enjoy separate adults from kids and smoke designate area .

Deck Plans for Carnival Sensation

Tips for Carnival Sensation

The dining room was empty at lunch time. It was quiet and relaxing.

We had a balcony stateroom on the very back of the ship just under the Serenity deck (21 and over only). Nice and quiet part of the ship! Also convenient to food. Short flight of inside stairs to get to dinner, and then 2 short flights of stairs on the outside to get to the buffet area.

Lido deck is definitely the best place to eat breakfast. Lines may be a little longer but they have a bigger variety of food.

Go to the Fantasia dining room for breakfast & lunch. Their food was great and NOT greasy like the Lido.

If you want a spot on the "adults only" sun deck you have to get there early.

Breakfast was the best meal of the day.

best meals where the ones in the dinning halls, the lines for the buffets were too long, and food was of low quality.

If you get sea sick easily - BRING SEASICK MEDICINE! These class of Carnival Ships do not have stablizers like the bigger Carnival Ships have so expect a lot of rocking!

Get to the comedy shows a little early; they fill up fast.

bring your bathing suit in a carry on or wear it so you can enjoy the pool while everyone is still boarding.

If you want to visit the islands do it early. There is no lines for breakfast and no wait to leave the ship

Go to the dining room for breakfast there was no line and the eggs are better.

Visit the complementary sushi bar before dinner. Check the Fun Times for when it is available. Sometimes it is closed if another event is scheduled there.

ALWAYS FOOD,AND SOMETHING TO DO

Do not carry on board any bills larger than a 20.

In General was a great and better experience I had , better then my Last 2 trips on 2different Royal caribean ,and better then my Previous trip with Carnival as well. For sure I recomed and looking forward to sail with them again.

The Lido deck was the best place to have breakfast and lunch. And get yourself treated with a nice supper at one of the sit down restaurant.

Go to Lido deck and eat breakfast, lunch, dinner all day long. love it

My special request for swiss cheese was fulfilled

exact same food every day
