Fantastic

Ship: Norwegian Jewel
Sail Date: Jun 08, 2013

To start with, the personnel was terrific, The food was excellent. One of the booked tours , Fish hatchery, was disappointing. The fish weren't due for a few more weeks. You Should have known that, and advised us. I wouldn't have gone on that tour had I known. We fished at Ketchikan, Had a great time. the captain was great. The train ride at Skagway was the most Beautiful sight of Mountains we've seen, with waterfalls and snow, It was just beautiful . Butchart Gardens , again, marvelous. I hope the $12.00 per person per day , goes to the room Cleaner. Michael was very sure to take care of our needs.

North to Alaska for the First Time

Ship: Westerdam
Sail Date: Jun 08, 2013

Because my husband and I live 15 minutes from Port Canaveral, Florida, we frequently cruise the Caribbean but had never been to Alaska before. Holland America is one of our favorite cruise lines because of their service, consistency, and value. When we finally decided to take an Alaskan cruise, we found the Inside Passage 7-day from Seattle the best value offered at the time, and we were not disappointed. We spent a couple of nights in Seattle first and were charmed by the friendliness, cleanliness, history, and beauty of that city. The itinerary of the cruise showed us a sampling of the Alaskan wilderness and lifestyle, and we are already planning a longer, more extensive cruise and land package for next summer.

Beautiful Cruise, Clean Ship

Ship: Westerdam
Sail Date: Jun 08, 2013

Overall, the cruise was beautiful! We had sunny weather most days, even in Glacier Bay. The first full day of cruising was at sea, and it was really rough. If you get motion-sick, prepare yourself with Bonine, get up early and get out of your room and get to the Lido deck for some light food. Other than that first day, the waters were pretty smooth sailing. If you are a gluten free passenger, they do have gluten free food, but each area handles it different, and it can be a pain. The best thing to do is go to each dining are you will be participating in and talk to someone in charge. In the Lido, look for the chefs with the tall hats. If you do this early on, it will save you a lot of time, and you will get to enjoy more foods. In Juneau, we really enjoyed the $8 roundtrip bus ride to Mendenhall Glacier. Great way to spend the afternoon. In Sitka, we walked the city street and looked in the shops. In Ketchikan, we shopped. Tongass Tradiing is worth saving your...

Alaska cruise- Norwegian Jewel

Ship: Norwegian Jewel
Sail Date: Jun 08, 2013

Overall , we have a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. There was one incident that I did not like and that involves the sales person selling the "Inch of Gold" , name is Rava or sometihing like that. He keeps on promising you something if you buy 2 stuff then when you commit to three he says no, you need to buy more. I don't think you should be "played " to buy stuff like that.

Holland msAmsterdam to Alaska

Ship: Amsterdam
Sail Date: Jun 07, 2013

This cruise was great! The ship has many comfortable, quiet common areas that we have not experienced on other cruises. The scenery was breathtaking! There seemed to be a good variety of excursions at each port. Rick, the cruise director, Mark, the show announcer, and Amber, the culinary expert were all fun and informative. Similarly, there was a positive, helpful atmosphere among the entire crew. Everyone seemed to be more than happy to make this cruising experience a very positive one for each passenger. The food was delicious and a higher quality that other cruises we have taken, with a large variety offered at each meal. Service was especially courteous and efficient at each evening meal. Our only criticism would be the buffet stations in the Lido Restaurant, where it is not made clear at the beginning that these are stations, and not one big buffet line; so they sometimes get unnecessarily crowded during peak meal times. We especially enjoyed the many quiet common areas th...

Solstice Experience June 7 Sailing

Ship: Celebrity Solstice
Sail Date: Jun 07, 2013

We have sailed on the Solstice previously on the East Coast. The ship is Grand and the Service was Great. While the food was really super, the selection was rather slim. Entertainment was the only area of the experience we were not pleased with. The entertainer doing the magic was not bad but his rendering of hypnosis was not Celebrity quality. The Cruise director (Patti?) was Super and she should sing more often than the last afternoon. All-in-all, our Celebrity cruise was another great experience. Thanks, we still feel your number one on the seas.

Loved Alaska

Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas
Sail Date: Jun 07, 2013

This was my 6th cruise, first with Royal Carribean. First cruise for my boyfriend. Alaska was just as everyone said-the best cruise ever! I was impressed with the quality of the food-both in the Main Dining Room and the Buffett. The food was excellent, the best I have had on a cruise ship. Shows were top notch. The staff was exceptional. Everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy their job, which you don't see in a lot of other ships. A little bumpy on Saturday, but that can be expected in the open sea! Had friends in Juneau who showed us around-was excited to see a black bear and her three cubs and the Mendenhall Glacier. Went on the White Pass and Yukon Route train ride in Skagway, a must when visiting the town. Butchart Gardens was the place to see in Victoria. Smooth trip back to Seattle. I would highly recommend Royal Caribean's trip to Alaska.

The Pearl Inside Passage Alaska

Ship: Norwegian Pearl
Sail Date: Jun 02, 2013

This was our third Alaska cruise and first time with NCL. Nice surprises: 1. Entertainment. We greatly enjoyed the "Oh What a Night to Remember Tribute" (4 Seasons Tribute band). Professional and worth seeing. Jana Seale was a "not to miss" performer...if you love Folk/Pop music by a great voice and a great picker (guitar music accompaniment)...Jana is your girl! Also worthy of mention is Arvin and Emily...a fantastic duo with a great blend (Their rendition of "A Prayer", rocked the boat!). 2. Debarkation in Seattle...about as quick and smooth as we've experienced. 3. Itinerary: The "must sees" on any Alaskan cruise must include Glacier Bay and Skagway (for the rail trip). This itinerary included both! 4. Dress code. Loved the option to stay in jeans the whole trip...not for everyone, I know, but I loved the simplicity and ability to travel light! As expected: 1. Tiny, tiny cabins (141 sq ft inside). Only way to get on/off bed was over the end (side space further reduced ...

Service Is Tops

Ship: Golden Princess
Sail Date: Jun 02, 2013

My wife and I truly enjoyed the activitiesand entertainment presented aboard the Golden Princess. Our first cruise was on the Star Princess and I would say the excellent sevice has not changed one bit. Our room steward Earnie and dining Waiters Edwin Moreno and Nirun Juyklin provided great attentive service. The food was just the best the entire cruise. We will be sure to book our next adventure with Princess again and again.

the shutdown

Ship: Oosterdam
Sail Date: Jun 02, 2013

We must begin by stating that we are not new to cruising having used Royal Caribbean and Carnival in the past. This was our first experience with Holland and also Alaskan cruise. You not have a bad cruise to this destination as the environment is beautiful. Holland American seemed to do many things right, like as a smooth embarkation and debarkation process. The food was lack lusture and the biggest issues was the staff approach to portions. This was further complicated by the language barrier which is present with most boats. They could improve by asking how much you want and changing servers as they appeared to be in different to many quest request staterooms were fine. The activities were par for most boats but geared towards an older crowd and were mid fifties. This is not a boat kids limited things for them to do. The boat seemed to close down about 11:30pm daily ad I felt cheated as they started to prepare for next weeks quest during day five. We couldn't find a drink on the fina...

Ports in Alaska - Inside Passage

Cruise Outside Passage, Alaska (0 Reviews)

Located on the Mississippi River between the cities of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Oak Alley Plantation has been called the "Grande Dame" of the Great River Road. Nowhere else in the South will you find such a spectacular setting. The 1/4 mile canopy of giant oak trees, believed to be nearly 300 years old, forms an impressive avenue leading to the classic Greek-revival style home. Learn More »
