My Overall Experience on the Carnival Imagination

Ship: Carnival Imagination
Sail Date: Jun 10, 2013

Great vacation, very relaxing, the service was excellent, a memorable experience. My oceanview cabin was wonderful. The cabin steward took very good care of me and daughter. The ship crew was very friendly and always there to help.

From the perspective of a senior citizen

Ship: Carnival Imagination
Sail Date: Jun 10, 2013

It was evident to me that the line has cutback to save money. Eg using disc jockeys instead of a live band. This was evident on lido deck as well as a lack of bands to dance throughout the ship. The food in the bouffet was repetative each day for the most part. (only saw swiss cheese once, all other days it was the same. Never saw any pasta dishes. Everyday the same salad ingrediants (never saw Ceasars Salad) etc. My cabin (sold as a Junior suite was not even large enough to contain a chair) The balcony was 3 feet wide and 6 feet long. I expected more from a junior suite and wonder what the lower class cabins would look like. I knew ahead of time that we had an obstructed view and was ok with that. For the under 40, it was truly a fun ship with constant activities for them. The entertainment (except for the dance company) was so=so with one act being 2 break dancers and another 2 stand-up comediens, The cruise staff was very friendly. The food in the dinning room was good.

Carnival Victory rating

Ship: Carnival Victory
Sail Date: Jun 10, 2013

I was upset on the design, food and activities on the ship. The food was the same all the time. The quality of the food was horrible. It felt like it was frozen food that was just cooked. No fresh food at all.

5 days on Fascination

Ship: Carnival Fascination
Sail Date: Jun 10, 2013

We had very good service and nice clean rooms. The food was good not great, but I am comparing it to another Cruise in Alaska. Would liked to have had different main entertainment each night instead of repeats. Was good anyway. If you have children then this is your Cruise. Lots for them to do. Water slid was great. The Stirrup Cay Island stop was nice, lots to do. Overall I would recommend this cruise for a short Vacation. Port was easy to get in and out of. I would use this Cruise again.

Highly recommend this cruise!!!

Ship: Carnival Freedom
Sail Date: Jun 09, 2013

We had a great a time!!! Service was excellent, food was great, room service always came on time and the entertainment was awesome too!!! I loved the ports we stopped at. Did the train tour in Key West which my 3yr old loved. Grand Cayman went to Royal Palms on 7 mile beach, it was a little pricey but well worth the $5 for a chair and $5 for an umbrella. Lunch was about 13 for a burger and 12 for a pizza. Ended up going closer to the cruise port and ate at Burger King which was just as good as the States. I didn't like Jamaica, Bobsledding ride and climbing the Dunes River Falls was AWESOME. However they nag you to death to buy something, I just simply said "no, thank you" and walked off.

very impressive

Ship: Carnival Dream
Sail Date: Jun 08, 2013

The ship is very big and well maintained. This was my fourth cruise and maybe best one based on the ship. No issues and service is always on point. Definitely recommend anyone for this particular ship. Plenty of food choices for everyone. Of course with 3500 passengers food lines are long at breakfast and lunch hours. But that's expected.

What We Love

  • Carnival earns the "Big Bang for the Buck" award with excellent food, large staterooms, top-flight entertainment and superb kids’ programs.
  • Famous Melting Chocolate Cake.
  • Carnival's standard staterooms are among the largest at sea, ranging from 185-230 sq. ft.
  • Outstanding live entertainment ranging from Las Vegas-style floor shows to comedy clubs, piano bars, sports bar, disco and jazz to a string quartet in the lobby.

What To Expect

  • Food and dining: Choose between assigned seating, two-person seating, or open-floor seating that allows you to dine when and with whom you please.
  • "Fun Ship" atmosphere: High-energy with glossy surfaces, neon, fantasy-inspired decor and superb entertainment ranging from high-stepping shows to piano bars and the liveliest casinos at sea.
  • Fellow passengers: During school vacation periods, passengers mostly consist of families. At other times of the year, passengers tend to be 25-50 year old couples and groups of friends. Roughly 30% of passengers are aged 55+.

The Fine Print

Alcohol Policy: One bottle of wine or champagne per person may be brought on board; $10 corkage fee in dining room, $14 in steakhouse.

Gratuities: The total amount is $11.50 per guest, per day, covering room steward, waiter and other staff billed to stateroom.

Children's Program: Camp Carnival offers supervised kids programs in separate facilities for children and teens by age group (2-5; 6-8; 9-11; and 12-15 years old plus special events for teens). Operating from 9:00 am. to 10:00 pm daily.
