wonderful

Ship: Monarch of the Seas
Sail Date: Mar 18, 2013

I really enjoyed my cruise as usualy. A little disappointed that the bar service was not what it use to be. Had to wait and get up from my comfortable chair and go get most of my drinks myself which was a disappinting. Over all it was a wonderful time.

Cruise #6

Ship: Monarch of the Seas
Sail Date: Mar 18, 2013

This was my Sixth cruise on Monarch of the Seas. Sad to see her move on to another Port. But excited to see what is coming to replace her. Great value, staff, ship, and Port. (Port Canaveral)

You get what you pay for...

Ship: Monarch of the Seas
Sail Date: Mar 18, 2013

I have cruised to Bermuda on NCL and Holland America prior to this cruise and was VERY pleased with both. I must say the Itinerary for the 4 day cruise to Coco Cay & Bahamas was great, but food & entertainment was VERY poor. If this was my first cruise, I probably would not cruise again. Since we have cruised on other lines I know cruising is the way to go with the right cruise line. We traveled with 8 of us and the price per person for the cruise was great, as well as the rooms and housekeeping staff, but cruise personnel outside housekeeping was VERY poor and not helpful. Poor Food , Entertainment & Staff (not including housekeeping).

Hell on board ship

Ship: Monarch of the Seas
Sail Date: Mar 11, 2013

We were very excited and had no expectations but when we got to our stateroom (5501) we noticed a smell that was likened to gear oil/diesel in the room which gave my wife a headache after about 10 minutes in the room that wouldn't go away. We informed guest services and they said that they would look into it. (All someone did was to air out the hallway for a couple of hours and say everything was fine) We returned to the room after they said it was okay and after about an hour my wife's headache got worse from the fumes. They found a room for us the following day that someone else had asked to be moved out of (stateroom 2120) and my wife's headache started to go away around 1500 hours, Day 2 of the trip while we on Cococay Island. We went to our new stateroom around 0100 to sleep and at 0300 a purge pump went off that was so loud it sounded like having an engine running next to the bed. At around 0400 I decided to call guest services and have them find out the cause of the noise a...

OUR FIRST CRUISE

Ship: Monarch of the Seas
Sail Date: Mar 04, 2013

This was our first cruise so we have nothing to compare to but it is our opinion that it was an excellent experience and we would most definitely recommend this cruise to others. We enjoyed our stateroom, all of the shows and the food was wonderful. There were 10 in our party mostly all family members and for many of them it was also their first cruise so it was quiet an adventure for all of us. We loved stopping at Cococay for the day and also enjoyed the straw market in the Bahamas. The entire trip was most relaxing and we even made it without using our phones or our computers which put us all in a relaxing mood... We would like to go for another cruise in the future and will most definitely recommend your company to our friends. Don and Drema Slaughter

Cruising during spring break

Ship: Monarch of the Seas
Sail Date: Mar 04, 2013

If you are not a spring breaker stay away. When I booked I did not realize this ship was going to be filled with noisy springbreakers. As a consecuence I felt I was in a place which was out of control, I could not sleep at night because of loud noises in my stateroom corridor.

Farewell to the Monarch

Ship: Monarch of the Seas
Sail Date: Feb 25, 2013

We spend a 4 night cruise on the Monarch of the Seas, to be retired at the end of March 2013. From the moment we stepped on the ship to the time we departed, the service by the crew was 5-star, as was the food and the destination (Nassau). The accommodations were more than I had expected after reading several "for first time cruise" articles. We would travel on another cruise without hesitation, and would recommend Royal Caribbean to friends and family.
